Connection

 

Here we are again,

New day same place.

You say you see me but you don’t,

The words I say,

Have no meaning for you,

And all we do is argue,

 

You say you hear me,

But don’t really listen.

Your thoughts prove to be

Something different.

I am here or I try to be,

But my real thoughts are still invisible.

 

We talk but we don’t converse,

We let our minds speak and not hearts.

Why do we even bother?

 all it does is drive us apart.

 

You and I both,

Want to be heard,

Want to be seen,

Be each other’s first priority.

 

You should be happy and have it your way,

But not at the cost of mine.

The things that give me meaning,

Doesn’t make sense to you,

And  our bond falls apart overtime.

 

We don’t get along like we used to ,

We slowly drift away,

What we had once is gone,

can’t do anything but move on.

 

But as life goes by,

Many other things

Catch our eyes,

Our Hearts and our mind.

Times change, we change

And nothing ever remains the same.

 

And I hope that as time passes,

And things start to heal,

We remember what we saw in one another-

And once again can be heard and seen.
